Work History:
-  Institute of Radiation Protection and Dosimetry (IRD), Brazilian National Nuclear Energy Commission (CNEN), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; 1980-1998.
-  University of Utah; Postdoctoral Fellow, (on leave from IRD), 1991-1995.
-  Software Engineer at EDO Corp. (ceramic materials for telecommunications), 2000 – 2002
-  Internal Dosimetry Specialist – Argonne National Laboratory, 2002 – 2003
-  Member of the Internal Dosimetry Team of Los Alamos National Laboratory since 2003.

Activities:
- Internal Dosimetry since 1979
- Responsible for all age-specific dose calculations, in vivo and in vitro data interpretations and evaluations of effectiveness of Prussian Blue administration as a chelating agent to patients of several groups of age due to the Goiania radioactive accident, which occurred in September 1987.
-  Professor in postgraduate courses and academic advisor of Ph.D. and M.Sc. theses.
- National and international experience exchanging scientific information and visiting centers in Germany, UK, France, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, USA
-  Editor and peer-reviewer of scientific papers for international journals (Health Physics, Radiation Protection Dosimetry, Medical Physics) and proceedings of conferences.
-  Member of the ICRP Task Group on Dose Calculations since 1995.
-  About 100 scientific publications in the field of Internal Dosimetry

Awards:
- Young Scientist Award given by Radiation Protection Research Action of the Commission of the European Communities to participate in the "Workshop on Intakes of Radionuclides: Detection, Assessment and Limitation of Occupational Exposure", at Bath, U.K., 13-17 September 1993.
- Young Scientist Award given by Radiation Protection Research Action of the Commission of the European Communities to participate in the "Workshop on Intakes of Radionuclides: Occupational and Public Exposure", at Avignon, France, 15-18 September 1997.
